Publication date: 29 May 2025

1. Commitment to achieving net zero

Lithe Consulting Ltd is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

2. Baseline emissions footprint

Baseline year: 2023
Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations:

Lithe operates fully remote without a physical office. Staff and consultants primarily work from home, with limited travel to client sites. Emissions are calculated based on remote work energy use, business travel, and third-party services such as cloud computing. Emission factors are aligned with UK Government guidance and the GHG Protocol.

Baseline year emissions:

  • Scope 1: 0 tCO2e (No direct emissions, no owned or controlled combustion sources)

  • Scope 2: 0 tCO2e (No physical office or company-controlled electricity use)

  • Scope 3 (included sources): 35 tCO2e (Primarily home working energy use, business travel, cloud services, and purchased goods/services)

Total emissions: 35 tCO2e

3  Current emissions reporting

Reporting year: 2024

Current year emissions:

  • Scope 1: 0 tCO2e

  • Scope 2: 0 tCO2e

  • Scope 3 (included sources): 28 tCO2e (Reduction due to lower business travel and supplier optimisation)

Total emissions: 28 tCO2e

4. Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:

We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 18 tCO2e by 2030, which represents a 49% reduction from the 2023 baseline.

5. Carbon reduction projects

Completed carbon reduction initiatives:

Since our 2023 baseline, Lithe Consulting Ltd has implemented several initiatives:

  • Promoted low-energy home working practices among staff

  • Introduced a travel policy prioritising virtual meetings over in-person

  • Transitioned cloud infrastructure to providers with strong sustainability credentials

  • Engaged suppliers to encourage emission transparency and reduction

These measures have contributed to a reduction of 7 tCO2e, or 20% compared to baseline emissions. All measures remain in effect during the performance of contracts.

Future carbon reduction initiatives:

We plan to further reduce emissions by:

  • Encouraging the use of renewable electricity in employees' home offices

  • Continuing to reduce business travel by prioritising remote consulting

  • Introducing sustainability criteria in procurement and supplier selection

  • Offsetting any remaining emissions through certified carbon offset programs
